Review: Miss Beauty London

Monday, 6 June 2016

So Miss Beauty London got in touch with me about trying out and reviewing some of their products and the make up fanatic in me said yes! First off, can you believe that all the products above are £1 each?! Everything in the Miss Beauty London range retails for just £1 making this a fantastic new budget beauty brand.

I was sent 4 different products to try out: the Flawless Matte foundation, the Fine Eyeliner, Waterproof Mascara and a Pressed Powder.

Lets start off with the pressed powder. I was sent this in Shade No1 'Candle Glow'. This is a lovely silky powder and was is great for when I just want to use a bit to touch up throughout the day as it's very lightweight and definitely reduces the shine on my face! I like to use a bit of powder on my eyelids to help my eyeliner stay in place all day, and this kept it there! Although I prefer my infallible 24 hour powder (L'Oreal) which gives me a more fuller coverage, this is a fantastic powder on a budget and is great to have on the go for just £1!

Next up, the 'Fine Eyeliner' in black. I actually really liked the shape of this brush and found it great for completing the cat-eye look I love. I'm a felt tip liner girl but I did use this to touch up any rather wobbly flicks that I'd made and it worked really well for this as it's got a really fine tip! This is especially great for touching up any little smudges etc throughout the day and perfecting those flicks.

Admittedly I didn't love this mascara, but that's because I like more extreme lashes so always go for much thicker brushes to give me volume I guess. For a natural look to just give my lashes a bit of length and colour this works really well, and similarly as a base coat it would also do the job, but I don't think I would use this much as an everyday product.

Finally, we have the 'flawlessly matte foundation' in shade 2. As a very pale girl I did find this a little dark/yellow toned for my skin, however the coverage was good and very build able. The product felt nicer than I expected and was an extremely light formula it to so I might go and buy it in shade 1 and see if it's a better match for me. I'm sure it would be a good alternative in the summer on very warm days as it had more the consistency of a BB Cream which is often nicer on your skin than a heavy foundation in the hotter weather.

Verdict: I loved the powder and eyeliner! These aren't products that I like to splash out on anyway so they'll definitely be in my make-up bag. It's a shame that the foundation did not match my skin tone as I liked the formula a lot more than I thought I would. Although I won't convert to this as my everyday mascara, it's always good to have a waterproof mascara on the go, you never know when you might need one... I was really impressed overall and can't believe how good the quality of the products was for a mere £1. Thank you to Miss Beauty UK* for sending me the lovely products to review, they can be purchased in your nearest Poundworld now!
